Unlock Your Writing Potential

My Intention is Clear

I want to empower you to connect with editors, master the art of the follow-up (because I'm the queen of that), and confidently navigate the world of professional writing. You've got stories inside you, waiting to shine, and it's time to let them out. Whether you're overflowing with pitch ideas but need guidance to make them irresistible to editors, or you've got a treasure trove of ideas but need help shaping them into those dreamy pieces you've been imagining, I've got your back.

Kinfolk Talk: 1:1 Consultations

You’re full of pitch ideas for impactful stories you want to write but are looking for guided feedback on how to craft a pitch that lands. I’m here for you. You want to get invited to your first press trip but don’t understand how to get invited to one or what it’s like once you get flown out. I’m still here for you. You’re already writing published stories but ready to step into deeper storytelling and want someone to bounce ideas off someone who gets it. I got you.

We’ll hop on a 1-hour 1:1 consultation call and chop it up about all things freelance writing and digital content creation. Before you know it, you’ll be eating your way through Costa Rica on your first-ever press trip (true story - my first PR trip was to Limon, and I ate everything in sight and wrote about it!)

“I traveled with Buoyant Travel group December 2019 and it was such a monumental trip. This trip changed my life. Ghana will forever remain special to me, and I have already returned twice. Briona is not only an amazing woman, but she is an incredible tour guide. In my opinion, the purpose of booking with a tour group is for convenience, meeting like-minded people, reduced stress, an organized trip, and great memories. Briona checked all of these boxes and was super organized. I have quickly referred her to others and I plan to join her group in Brazil!

MEET BRIONA

I spent years doubting if my writing was good enough, unsure and unfulfilled. From a lifelong dream of writing professionally to navigating the uncertainty of a nomadic life, I yearned to tell impactful global stories. Faced with the challenges of an anti-Black media industry, I scoured the internet for answers, leading me to a pivotal moment: contributing to POPSUGAR and embarking on my writing journey. With each byline, I gained the confidence to send pitches, eventually securing a place among multi-award-winning travel and food journalists, recognized by prestigious organizations and featured in top publications.
